Boost #90 It’s Good To Be A Jew

Do Not Covet

Jews around the world are starting to get a taste of the challenge of being Jewish. Israelis have experienced it since 1948 (and before), and anyone who lived through World War 2, of course, knew it. We live in a world that is more and more hostile to our existence.

The urgency and importance of understanding antisemitism and how to respond to it can not be overstated. If you haven’t yet seen the film Tragic Awakening, please be in touch with me. It’s a must-see to start understanding what’s going on.

I want to touch on one aspect here. We can’t let them get us down! Repeated insult, threat, and physical violence can take its toll. We’re being bullied on a national scale. We have to respond mindfully; otherwise, we will fall victim to their intentions to get us down.

I wish I could tell you it’s all going to be OK.  I can’t. Nevertheless, no matter what, we have to know that it is good to be a Jew. The foundational principle of “Do not covet” is to be happy with your portion. We have to dig deep, think hard, be open to discovery, whatever it takes, we need to find that place where we see clearly, it’s good to be a Jew!

At least one time this week, stop and say out loud, “It’s good to be a Jew!” and tell yourself why.

Set your intention for the day by reciting The Aseret Affirmation: Ten for Ten first thing in the morning.

Wishing you safety and strength,

Nitzan Bergman
